ilok with a license within a few hours is pretty amazing to me.And since helix native supports multiple effects within a single preset, you can replace several plugins with onesaving valuable time, money, and dsp resources. I remember having a dongle per piece of software attached to my PPC Mac and waiting for the weekend to be over so I could call the software company (Softimage 3D) because I couldn't read the license they faxed to me (this is before the internet and for a $10k piece of software). Kinda convenient in comparison to some of the dongles I've owned. I don't mind the ilok one bit after using microguard dongles, eve dongles, FlexLM, etc. Nice thing is being able to use several instances at once w/o needing to own multiple boxes. I never used a real H3000, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but it seems to be more patching/programming friendly than my Eclipse. That said, I don't know if I would want to pay full price for it, but it is certainly a usable plugin with lots of different effects.
The sale made me think about it, trying the demo sealed the deal for me. I almost bought it at full price a few times, but the sale made it an easy decision. Kinda like a few of the SoundToys plugins mashed into one plugin with routing for modulating parameters. I had a Space reverb pedal before and guess the Blackhole VST is more or less like the mode in there? Any experiences with the H3000 plugin? Is it worth it?
